As some of you may know, my new hobby has been building Bee Docs into an international fashion brand. Here is the first step in that journey. The Bee Docs "Natural Selection" tee shirt.
We start with Edun Live 100% Organic Cotton tee shirts both grown and sewn in Africa. To learn more about how Edun is making a difference in Africa, check out this video.
We commissioned the renowned artist Engin Korkmaz from Istanbul, to create the illustration on the front.
The shirts were hand printed with water-based inks by artist, musician, and print maker PJ Portlock of Portland Oregon. Water based inks are free of PVC chemicals and merge beautifully with the organic cotton shirt. Rather than plastical inks that sit on top of the fabric, these inks look and feel like they are a part of the shirt itself.
The shirts will soon be available for $24.95 and in standard Men and Women sizes. They'll be up at beedocs.com in a few weeks, but if you can't wait, send me an e-mail and we'll work something out.
